Nurse Practitioner
The nurse practitioner is a nurse who has extra training and experience in the treatment of acutely ill patients. If you request an urgent appointment, you may speak to, or see, the nurse practitioner who will be able to diagnose and recommend treatment in the majority of cases. If necessary, you may see the emergency doctor at the same time. The nurse practitioner is also available to give telephone advice on health problems which may be worrying you and can be reached on the surgery telephone number.

Asthma & COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) Clinic
This clinic is for patients with asthma and chronic obstructive airway disease (chronic bronchitis and emphysema)

Babies & Children
Immunisation, Childhood Surveillance, Parent craft, Baby clinic, Midwives, Health visitor, Immunisation Schedule.

Counselling
The Church Street counselling Service

Diabetes
This clinic provides diabetic patients with the knowledge, skills and support that enables them to lead a full and healthy life. Patients are encouraged to attend on a regular basis.

Female Health Clinic
Menopause, HRT, Family planning.

Healthy Heart
This is a secondary prevention clinic available to patients who have had a problem with their heart or circulation. They are invited to clinic annually by letter or referred by their dr. They have the opportunity to discuss lifestyle issues, smoking cessation have blood pressure checked , blood taken to measure cholesterol, glucose levels and  ECG when necessary.

Hypertension
The clinic allows time for an in-depth discussion of high blood pressure and its associated problems. A full examination and blood tests will be performed and, where appropriate, treatment may be prescribed. Patients are encouraged to attend on a regular basis.

Immunisation
Childhood, Travel, Flu.

Nursing
Treatment room, Midwives, health Visitors, District nurses, Nurse advisor to the older person.

Older Person
Flu clinic, Nurse advisor to the older person, Social Worker.

Teenage Health
Body Matters.

NON NHS SERVICES
Certain services such as private sick notes, insurance claim forms and some medical examinations are not covered by the NHS and charges are made in line with British Medical Association recommendations. Please ask at reception for details. These examinations are not performed during normal surgery hours and special appointments must be made through reception.
